Bundesliga Round Up: Familiar side lead the race while a surprise team in top four

Top Four teams will have a chance to qualify for Champions League next season.


Bundesliga has always been a two way fight in recent years until last year when RB Leipzig gave a good fight to the title winning Bayern side. This season it has been ten games so far and the picture is quite familiar with Bayern Munchen leading the race.

Bayern are currently top of the table with 23 points after ten games, while Borussia Dortmund are three points behind them as they have just managed a solitary point in their last three matches after a near perfect start to the season. Third place is occupied by Leipzig who are on 19 points while a surprising Hannover are 4th so far with 18 points.

Koln and Werder Bremen are in the wrong side of

the table as they currently are in the bottom two places, with Hamburger are in the relegation play off position and one point from safety.


Bayern consolidated the top spot after beating a 10 men Leipzig side on Saturday. James Rodriguez and Robert Lewandowski scored for the Bavarians.

James made his switch on loan from Real Madrid

Hannover came away 4-2 victorious over Borussia Dortmund as Bebou scored a brace for Hannover. Dortmund’s 18 year old defender Dan Zagadou scored a goal but was also sent off in the match.

Aubameyang in action

Leverkusen won over bottom placed Koln while Schalke were held at home by Wolfsburg thanks to a stoppage time equalizer by Divock Origi, on loan from Liverpool.

Hoffenheim missed out on the chance to close within a point of Dortmund as they went down to a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Borussia Monchengladbach.

Top Scorers:

Gabonese striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is the joint top scorer so far with 10 goals. The Dortmund talisman is level on goals with Polish and Bayern star Robert Lewandowski.
