Real Madrid youngster all set to reject Spanish offers to represent his country of birth

Franchu is in quandary amidst speculations of his international future.

For the past couple of days a news has been circulating around Real Madrid youth star, Francisco Feuillassier, better known as Franchu, may be heading to represent Spain internationally.

Franchu was born in Mar del Plata, a coastal city in Argentina.

The rumours about his representation spiced up even more after Argentine Football Association president Claudio Tapia had stated that Argentina could miss out on acquiring the services of Francisco Feuillassier.

This came after the 19-year-old forward was promoted to the Primera Liga by coach Los Blancos coach Zinedine Zidane.

However, in a recent news, Francisco’s father assured that the Real Madrid man prefers to don the Albiceleste in near future.

“My son wants to play for Argentina“, Franchu’s father Jose was heard saying.

“Until now the Argentine youth teams did not take him into account. But obviously his desire is to represent his own country, but having conditions to be part of a national team and dual nationality … I do not know if I am clear,” he said.

“I do not know on what basis Tapia made that comment; maybe because of the repercussions he has had since my son returned to Real Madrid and Zidane took it into account. But my son would like to play for Argentina,” he added while he spoke to a Mar del Plata based portal.

From these statements by Feuillassier senior, it can be assumed that Francisco will be opting for Spain only if he does not get his desired call for Argentina.
However, he still can represent the Argentine senior team after playing for Spain youth team and vice versa courtesy a changed FIFA regulation stating, that a player participating for a selection in youth for one team, can still opt for another in majors.
