Not worth 90 million?

Arsenal were linked with Thomas Lemar all summer and finally the Gunners made a deadline day £92 million bid for him to replace Alexis Sanchez, who was supposed to go to Manchester City. Monaco even accepted the bid but the the deal collapsed maybe due to lack of time or the player’s rejection to move, but that ultimately halted both the transfers.

But reports suggest that Arsene Wenger will again go for him this January as there is a possibility that both Sanchez and Ozil may be sold in the winter transfer window. But the Arsenal legend Pires doesn’t think making a move will be right, especially the kind of money that will be involved is ridiculous according to the former France International.

“I don’t know,” he told Bwin when asked if Lemar would move to Arsenal in January.

“Arsene tried to buy Lemar, and tried very hard, but I don’t think the move will happen now.”

Pires also believes that Lemaris not worth of the humongous amount of money Arsenal will have to pay to land him and termed transfer window as crazy. He also questioned the value of Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldinho which clearly depicts that Pires is strongly against Arsenal’s move for Lemar if that huge amount of money is involved.

But Pires is optimistic with another transfer as he thinks that Lemar’s Monaco teammate Fabinho may go to Manchester United this January. He added that Man City were also interested in Fabinho and may go for him, but that is less likely as they currently have Fernandinho in that place.
