It has been reported that German International Marco Reus is currently being monitored by two Premier League clubs in the form of Arsenal FC and Manchester United.
It is believed that the Borussia Dortmund star is currently looking for a fresh, new challenge and believes that the Premier League will be the right opportunity for him to showcase his talents.
According to Bild, it has been speculated that both Arsenal and United are indeed closely keeping tabs on the German winger, who is under contract with Borussia Dortmund till 2019.
Reus’ career in Germany has been struck with lots of crippling injuries, which has forced him to miss a lot of top-flight matches in the Bundesliga throughout the years.
The 28-year-old also missed two big International tournaments, when he was forced to sit out of the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 European Championship. On the other hand, Reus has also failed to appear at all for Peter Bosz side this season.
Thus, due to his injury concerns, Reus believes that it is time for him to make a big change in his career and leave the Bundesliga for the Premier League. A change in scenery could actually turn out to help the Dortmund player who has failed to live up to his complete potential in Germany’s top flight so far.
If Reus is to jump ship to the English top flight division and sign for either Arsenal or Manchester United then it is likely that the player will be once again able to refocus on his career.
The Daily Mirror has also reported that the Red Devils remain interested in bringing in Reus, despite him suffering a devastating knee injury in the DFB Pokal finale.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho himself has also revealed that he wants to play with an extra winger in his squad, and after failing to capture Ivan Perisic and Gareth Bale over the summer transfer window, Mourinho now turns his attention towards Marco Reus.
Reus, who suffered the injury back in May, was initially ruled out of action for six months. But after a successful surgery, it is believed that he will once again fit to play in 2018. However, if Mourinho’s side is to make a bid for the player then they would have to wait till Reus regains his full fitness.
