Carabao Cup Quarter Finals Draw: Who faces whom in the crunch last eight ties

The Carabao Cup last eight draw was held earlier today and the final eight teams have got their opponents. After some draw hiccups earlier in this tournament, this one was no different from that as the draw was delayed due to some technical issues.

Teams Involved:

The teams that made to the last eight of this season’s Carabao Cup are Manchester United, Manchester City, West Ham, Arsenal, Chelsea, Leicester City, Bournemouth, Bristol City. United are the holders while Bristol City are the only non Premier League team that have made it to last 8.

Draw Delay:

The draw was delayed for two hours due to technical difficulties. The EFL released a statement apologizing for the delay which was blamed on a “faulty encoder”.

The statement said, “The EFL would like to apologise for a number of third party technical issues that affected coverage of today’s previously advertised Carabao Cup Round Five live draw at Twitter HQ.”

“The EFL has received an apology from Twitter UK for the delay which is believed to have occurred as a result of a faulty encoder. The EFL has requested a full explanation into the events that led to this afternoon’s unacceptable delay.”

Matches:

Manchester United have been assigned a meet with Bristol City while the Gunners will play West Ham at the Emirates, the Irons are fresh from an epic comeback victory over Arsenal’s local rivals Tottenham in the previous round of Carabao Cup.

Arsenal vs West Ham will be an all London clash

Chelsea will play Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge and Guardiola’s Manchester City, who made progress after a penalty win against Wolves, will make a trip at Leicester.
