Shocking: I league fixtures gets leaked and Kolkata derby date confirmed

Bengaluru FC joined ISL from this season.

The All India Football Federation has not yet confirmed a clear date about when the I league starts this season, but there has been already a reported leaking of I league fixtures as several outlets claim that the Indian top division league will start from 9th November.

The AIFF earlier announced that both ISL and I league will run simultaneously, which itself is a bizarre thing, and now unofficial sources claim that the I league may start as early as two weeks from now yet no official schedule or campaigning has started from AIFF’s behalf.

Nine teams have already been confirmed for the upcoming season’s I league, while the Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan and East Bengal refused to play the star studded ISL and committed their pledge to I league, there has been a return for Churchill Brothers FC. Neroca FC got promoted from last season’s 2nd division and will take part in top division this season.

There has been a talk of AIFF’s Indian Arrows as the 10th team of the league, involving the U17 players who took part in the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup but so far there has been no evident or concrete decision on that. A sector of Indian press and supporters are fed up with this lackluster approach of the governing body and this is an utter disappointment for the Indian football lovers.
