FIFA U17 World Cup this year will witness an all European final as Spain and England both won their respective Semi final matches and will now meet each other at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Saturday.

Spain 3  Mali 1

Review:

It was a massive spectacle in Kolkata as host city favorite Brazil took on England. The local supporters were almost all in the South American country’s support a huge 66,000 attendance people were in the stands to support their favorite teams.

England took the lead through Liverpool youth player Rhian Brewster after 10 minutes, the Samba country though came back after Wesley equalized, but England retook their lead through the same man six minutes from break to give three lions the edge.

It was Rhian Brewster again to complete his hat trick in the second half when Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe laid him a pass and the Liverpool colt tapped in the back of the net. Brazil, much to the despair of the local supporters, crashed out of the world cup.

The other Semi final was held in Mumbai as African side Mali locked horns with Spain. The Spanish took the lead through Abel Ruiz and it was Ruiz again who doubled their advantage. After the break Ferran Torres made it 3-0 for the Spanish.

N’Diaye though got one back for Mali but it was too late to surge a comeback. But Mali were unlucky one stage as one of their clear goal was ruled out because of the lack of goal line technology.

Brazil and Mali will also play on Saturday for the third place match before the grand final. Both the matches will be played in VYBK Stadium, also known as Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
