Team News:

Rooney is set to start against Arsenal, one of his favorite teams in the Premier League as he was the one who halted Arsenal’s unbeaten run in 2004 and has netted 11 times against the Gunners. Sigurdsson, Baines are also expected to make a return as they didn’t take part in Everton’s Europa League loss against Lyon.

Arsenal boss Wenger confirmed that Jack Wilshere is close to get a chance in the Premier League after a couple of superb performances in the Europa League, so he may take a part in the course of the game. Sanchez, Lacazette are also expected to return in the starting eleven.

Both the managers need a win in this match. Toffees boss Ronald Koeman splashed some hefty cash this summer but they are languishing at 16th place in the league. They have just won once in the league since the opening day and that was against Bournemouth, so a positive result is climactic for the Dutch manager.

Arsenal on the other hand require a win to keep up with the league leaders Manchester City. The Gunners have already lost thrice in the league and now are 9 points behind Pep Guardiola’s side.
