Arsenal star Mesut Ozil’s future has taken another twist as the midfielder is now poised a move away from Emirates when the transfer window reopens in January. Gunners are understood to be looking for possible suitors for the German International.
A disappointed Ozil after Arsenal’s loss against Watford
Arsene Wenger recently admitted that he may well be looking to sell both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil this winter rather than letting them go for free next summer. While Sanchez is a top priority for clubs like Manchester City and PSG, there has been a lack of interest in Ozil.
Wenger though wanted the former Real Madrid star to stay at Arsenal, it is to be understood that the Gunners boss have given up on any possible contact renew talks with Ozil. Ozil was offered a £275,000 per week contract but the German demands £350,000 per week. Despite talks from his side that the contract talks are going well, it looks that the German may well be heading out.
Ozil joined Arsenal in 2013
His lack of intensity and enthusiasm has privately infuriated the dressing room and his move away from Arsenal now appear to be just a matter of time. Ozil’s mentality has often been criticized and his lack of fighting spirit, tracking back has often caused Arsenal problems.
Even on last Saturday, Ozil’s inclusion in the field triggered Arsenal’s downfall yet again as the German missed a glittering chance at one end to make it 2-0 for Arsenal, and minutes later Watford equalized and subsequently also got a winner in the stoppage time.
There has been talks that Ozil may move to Manchester United, but for now his most probable destination may well be Inter Milan, as the Italian giants have publicly expressed their interest in him. Arsenal also want to offload Ozil and get some cash in instead of loosing him empty handed next season.
