The disappointing run of the defending Premier League champions, Chelsea continues as they have again slipped in the Premier League this season following an unexpected 1-2 away defeat against the last team on the table, Crystal Palace on Saturday.

With few injury problems, Chelsea had started the game with the absence of their two key players as Alvaro Morata and N’Golo Kante. But the line up was enough strong to secure the desired point. But on the pitch, the scenario became different. The home team took advantage in the game at very early stage. In the 11th minute of the match, Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend received a ball just at the right edge of the Chelsea box and delivered a cross to the Frenchman Yohan Cabaye. An easy attempted shot by the midfielder was deflected heavily as it hit the Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta and changed the direction of the ball into the back of the net.

The reigning champions did not take too much time to make a comeback as the ex-Monaco man Tiemou Bakayoko scored from a corner in the 18th minute of the game. In the 45th minute of the game, again the home team took the lead following awful defending by Chelsea. The star man Wilfried Zaha received the ball at the left edge of the Chelsea box and bet the defenders only using his speed and sent the ball past Thibaut Courtois. In the second half also, the Chelsea players failed to have any positive impact on the game. With this scoreline, Chelsea failed to climb up on the table and Crystal Palace grabbed their first point of the season.
