Arsenal and Chelsea both will battle to sign Manchester United’s promising young Goal Keeper Dean Henderson, according to reports. Mirror have reported that Gunners are interested in Henderson and Chelsea have joined them in the race too.
Henderson is a bright prospect for Manchester United
Henderson is currently on loan at Shrewsbury and has been decent for them as a first choice goal keeper. His contract at United expires at the end of this season but talks for new contract has been static for the moment. Although people in united rate him highly, there is a scanty chance for him to establish himself at the Theatre of Dreams. Both David de Gea and Sergio Romero are way ahead of him at the pecking order and that surely will limit his chances at the highest level.
He so far has been loaned to clubs like Stockport County and Grimbsy Town and has been quite decent for them. The 20 year old also has been a part of England under 20 squad in last year’s World Cup that went on to win the World Cup after beating Venezuela in the final.
Henderson with England Under 20s
Chelsea and Arsenal will give him better opportunities to settle at the club and establish himself in the biggest arena. With Wenger’s history of giving young players a chance, Arsenal may well be an apt destination for the young custodian but still the talks are very primitive. Also the West London club will look for a young competitor for Thibaut Courtois and push for the England youth international.

Southampton, Watford and West Brom are also keen and closely monitoring Henderson’s situation at the North West. And according to Mirror, up to 14 clubs are interested in Henderson, the likes of Tottenham, Stoke, Aston Villa, Udinese, Benfica, Olympiakos and many more.
