After one week of pause due to the international break, Premier League is now set to resume on Saturday as the defending champions Chelsea will visit another London side Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The reigning champions of England have had a very poor start of the season following their slips against the big names and opening day defeat to Burnley and they are already 6 points behind at the fourth position from both the league leaders from Manchester.
On the other hand, the scenario is even worse for the home team as they are yet to secure a single point from the first seven games so far. They already have a new manager as Roy Hodgson, who followed the footsteps of the ex-manager Alan Pardew, who has been sacked at very early stage of the season. But the plot has not been changed. The poor form of the side continues.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will be keen to come back to the winning form following their 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in the last gameweek. On the other hand, Crystal Palace will be looking forward to securing their first point of the season, but the task will be one of the toughest indeed against the Champions of England.
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea Team News:
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson will not be looking to perform too many experiments with his first team. So, it is expected that the team may remain unchanged from their last game against Manchester United.
On the other hand, Chelsea man-in-charge Antonio Conte will have to make some forced changes in his starting line up. The defender David Luiz will remain suspended for the third game of his three-match suspension. So, the promising youngster Andreas Christensen will replace his position. With the hamstring injury to their star forward Alvaro Morata, Michy Batshuayi is expected to start for his side. Apart from that, their key man N’Golo Kante has also suffered a hamstring injury during his international duties. So, he is also expected to stay out of the squad. Chelsea’s new recruit Danny Drinkwater may feature for his team for the first time if required.
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea Possible Line-ups:
Crystal Palace might not have secured a single point so far, but they do have some game-changing players in their squad indeed. Both the wingers Andros Townsend and Jeffrey Schulpp can cause the serious threats to the visitors’ defence. Apart from that, their forward Bakary Sako and Jason Puncheon can also ask some questions to the Chelsea defence.
On the other hand, the irrespective of the absence of few of the first choices, Chelsea are still dangerous with the presence of the stars like Eden Hazard, Pedro and Fabregas on their side. The Belgian international Michy Batshuayi is well known for his striker instinct. In addition, the wingers including Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso can change the colour of the game in no time.
