Season 5 of pro Kabaddi League has been a topsy turvy one so far for the Bengaluru Bulls as we enter the final two weeks of the initial league stage. Bengaluru are in the Zone B and currently sitting 5th with 39 points.
The fiery, spirited side of the past seasons have been too much relied on their raiding talisman Rohit Kumar and that has perhaps been too much for them. They still have a mathematical chance to qualify for play offs but it is highly unlikely that they will.
Squad: Rohit Kumar (Capt.), Ajay Kumar, Gurvinder Singh, Harish Naik, Rohit, Sinotharan, Sumit Singh, Amit Sheoran, Kuldeep Singh, Mahender Singh, Pardeep Kandola, Ravinder Pahal, Sachin Kumar, Amit, Ankit Sangwan, Preetam Chillar, Ashish Kumar, Sanjay Shreshtha, Sunil Jaipal
Their main reason of the struggle has been inconsistency and over dependence on Rohit Kumar. Bulls have had a six match straight loss streak and that has completely absorbed the momentum they had and also the morale. They have lost some close matches and has lost from decent positions. In raiding department, the likes of Jaipal and others haven’t complemented Rohit well and that has been a major issue for them. Known as the hawk, defender Ravinder Pahal has been instrumental for the team but his lack of discipline and silly errors has cost the team in crunch cases.
Rohit Kumar: This man has been a one man army for them in raids. He has tried all by himself and sometimes have won them single handedly. A total tally of 156 raid points just hasn’t been supported by others. He has scored more than 55 percent of total raid points.
Mahender Singh: Mahender Singh has one of their finds this season and the left cover is also their best defender, bagging 39 tackle points so far in the season.
