The Premier League leaders Manchester City have secured a dominated 1-0 victory over the reigning champions, Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Reportedly, the sky blue side from Manchester have not only defeated the defending champions, they totally outplayed the home side.
Chelsea man-in-charge Antonio Conte switched his starting formation to 3-5-2 formation as he had done on Wednesday against Atletico Madrid. So, Chelsea’s star man Eden Hazard got his first start of the Premier League for this season. On the other hand, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola missed his key forward Sergio Aguero following the Argentine’s accident and Benjamin Mendy due to injury. But the rest of the squad was more than enough to outplay The Blues at their home.
The only goal for the visitors came at the 67th minute of the game when the ex-Chelsea man Kevin De Bruyne played a fantastic one-two with his teammate and shot from range with three Chelsea defenders on his back. The left-footed shot had enough curl and power to beat the Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
The goal difference could have been more if the Manchester City player had shown more composure. On the other hand, after conceding the only goal, the home players showed some good moves. But City defenders were enough aware to deal with the attacks. With this victory, Manchester City have remained on top of the league table and on the other hand, Chelsea have been dropped down to the fourth position.
