Two of Arsenal players praise teammate Olivier Giroud

Olivier Giroud is not the first choice at the moment, but he is still one of the most prolific strikers in Arsenal ranks.

Giroud ecstatic after his fierece strike

Olivier Giroud achieved a huge milestone as an Arsenal player last night as he scored his 100th goal as an Arsenal player, which is obviously a proud moment as he is only the 19th player to do so. And his teammates were also in high praise for him as both Aaron Ramsey and Per Mertesacker had only good words to say for their French teammate.

“He’s so valuable to our squad and he’s earned the respect of everyone by behaving properly, as a member of this team,” Mertesacker said. The German defender also added that he can’t praise Giroud’s attitude and approach enough.

“He’s always been so engaged and as he says himself, his run isn’t over. Oli is an Arsenal man and he feels deeply that he can contribute to the success of this team”, Mertesacker added. Giroud is not a regular starter at Arsenal and despite that he chose to stay at the club and his teammate also admired that.
“He’s such a good example for young players because regardless of if he plays or not, he always brings his energy. Look at the impact he has when he comes off the bench.”
Beside that, the former Werder Bremen man also said that Giroud is a type of player a team require.
Also another Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey was ecstatic with Giroud’s achievement and spoke about the Frenchman’s impact in the team.

“He’s a fantastic player with many qualities and to score 100 goals is an amazing achievement and he joins a very select few,” the Wales international told Arsenal Player. “Congratulations to him, we’re delighted to have him in our team and hopefully he’ll score a lot more.”

He also praised Giroud’s technical ability and hold up play, mentioning that Ramsey himself loves to play alongside the former Montpellier striker. His understanding and combination with Giroud was also mentioned by the Welshman and he expects Giroud to score more for the Gunners.
