Laver Cup is the new hard court tennis tournament where the top players are taking part and the first edition of this tournament has already started in Prague, Czech Republic. A three-day tournament to be held at the O2 Arena in Prague, will see the biggest tennis stars from Europe take on a strong Rest of the World team.
The new lucrative tournament has attracted the top drawers of the tennis fraternity and it will be played between the two teams.
Laver Cup – Teams and Players:
Team Europe Squad: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Alexander Zverev, Martin Cilic, Dominic Thiem, Tomas Berdych, Fernando Verdasco (Alternate)
Team World Squad: Sam Querrey, John Isner, Nick Kyrgios, Jack Sock, Denis Shapovalov, Frances Tiafoe, Thanasi Kokkinakis (Alternate)
For team Europe, players are from countries like Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Croatia, Austria and Czech Republic
Team World has been represented by three countries, namely Australia, USA and Canada.
There are five players who are in the top 10 of the ATP ranking taking part in the tournament, all represent Team Europe.
Team Europe is captained by Bjorn Borg.
Team World is captained by John McEnroe.
Laver Cup Match Rules:
Matches won on Day 1 will get 1 point after win, matches won on Day 2 will get 2 points and the third day winners will get 3 points. The team to reach 13 points first will be crowned as winners. Since 12 points are to be won on day 3, no team can win it in the first two days. On each day, 3 singles and 1 double match will be played.
The matches will played on two sessions, day and night session.
