The defending Premier League champions, Chelsea have reportedly made their position good on the table shaking off their horrible start to the season as they have registered their third win in a row over the former Premier League champions Leicester City away from their home.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte started the game with three central midfielders including N’Golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas, and the new comer Tiemou Bakayoko to keep the midfield dominated. As expected, Chelsea had the massive domination in the middle of the pitch. But with only one forward up front as Alvaro Morata and Pedro as the support to his international teammate had been failing to break the deadlock until it was the 41st minute of the first half. Chelsea’s right-back Cesar Azpilicueta delivered a mouthwatering cross inside the box. His international teammate Alvaro Morata gave proper respect to the delivery as his header went past the Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. With a goal advantage, Chelsea increased the lead in the 50th minute of the game following a stunner from the ex-Leicester maestro N’Golo Kante. Chelsea’s player of the season had tried a shot from range on the ground. It was enough accurate to pass the Leicester goalkeeper’s outstretched hands. With a two goal lead, Chelsea’s dominance in the game increased gradually. But in the 62nd minute, Chelsea conceded a penalty when the goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois denied Jammie Vardy to have the possession of the ball. The English international did not make any mistake to sent the ball into the back of the net. With this scoreline, Chelsea have moved up to the third place in the table, whereas Leicester City are still finding themselves at just one place above the relegation zone.
