Arsenal are having a tough time both off and on the pitch but the Gunners faithfuls got an unexpected good news from an unexpected source. According to Chelsea star Eden Hazard, Arsenal can still challenge for the title.
Hazard was cheeky when he asked about the probable title challengers this season and he answered that Arsenal still can be boasting for the title despite a horrible start. And he didn’t stop here, to the amuse of Gunners fans, he omitted Tottenham’s name from the challengers list.
Asked about Chelsea’s rivals as they attempt to defend their league crown, the Belgium international told Nike: “It’s not just one team.
“I think all of the teams have got really good players: Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Man City and good managers as well. So we will see.”
That must have been a soft tease for their London rivals who currently have stuttered at Wembley. Spurs have drawn against Burnley and lost to Chelsea at their new home Wembley and now these comments have at least created joy among Arsenal fans. Tottenham are five points off the title pace after just three games, and Hazard is seemingly already writing off the north London club.
Arsenal haven’t had a good start
And to make matter worse, he chose Arsenal as a potential title challenger despite their demolition in the hands of Liverpool. Hazard’s other possible rivals are more of a threat as both the Manchester outfits have had an undefeated start while the Red Devils are on a perfect start so far with ten unanswered goals.
United have had a perfect start so far
Chelsea, after their opening day misery against Burnley, have come back stronger in the last two matches and Hazard will be hoping to emulate his last season’s heroics to plunge Chelsea for another bid of the title challenge.
