Dhawan to miss final ODI vs Sri Lanka due to personal issues

India’s batting ace Shikhar Dhawan is set to miss the final ODI vs Sri Lanka as India eye to make a clean sweep of the five match one day series.

Dhawan is coming back to India to stay beside his ailing mother and thus won’t be available tomorrow for the final match of the series.

Dhawan scored a century earlier this series

No replacement has been announced yet but it is to believe that Ajinkya Rahane will come into the team in place of him. Dhawan, already has scored a century in this series and has scored 190 in total, making him the 3rd highest run getter in the bilateral tournament behind Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Dhawan also was the highest run scorer in the test series with 358 runs and has cemented his place in the national side after a while. He came in the Indian side in place of Murali Vijay as the latter got an injury.

Rahane is expected to come in the team

India so far has been so dominant in this tour to the island country as they have won all the matches in both formats so far. A huge opportunity of a clean sweep beckons for the men in blue on Sunday and captain Kohli would love to achieve another feather in his short but productive career as a captain.

In the last match both the newcomers Manish Pandey and Kuldeep Yadav played well, which is another indication that how superior this current Indian cricketing group is.

The Kolkata Knight Riders duo played a part in their return to the side as Manish Pandey scored a half century, while the uncanny Kuldeep scalped a couple in a brave and quality bowling display.
