The second round of the Premier League has been completed. And just like the previous week, this week also produced some stellar goals.
Here are our top picks:
Paul Pogba (Manchester United) vs Swansea: Paul Pogba is slowly starting to justify his £89m price tag for his parent club this season. After a brilliant curler from outside the box against The Hammers in their opening game, he scored another beauty this week. After latching onto a lose ball from Tom Carroll in the midfield, he played a quick pass to team mate Henrikh Mkhitaryan and both continued the run towards the penalty box. The Armenian international then provided the cheekiest of passes for the Frenchman inside the Swansea box who turned in the delivery with a delightful chip past Lukasz Fabianski.
3.) Marcus Alonso (Chelsea) vs Tottenham: The London derby from last week became the most memorable for former Fiorentina defender Marcus Alonso who scored twice to hand the victory to The Blues. His first however was a brilliant free kick that is the number three on our list. The Spaniard got his free kick from 25-yards out to curl in brilliantly on to the right top corner. The powerful left footed curler gave a goalkeeper of the calibre of Hugo Lloris no chance.
2.) Etienne Capoue (Watford) vs Bournemouth: Watford registered their first win this season against Bournemouth with a tremendous goal from Etienne Capoue. After Andre Gray’s shot from the right was saved by Asmir Begovic, the rebound was headed away by defender Steve Cook which fell for The Cherries captain Andrew Surman. Surman’s headed clearance fell in the path of the Frenchman Capoue. He brought the ball down brilliantly with his chest before unleashing a thunderous right footed half volley onto the bottom left corner to leave the Bosnian goalkeeper with no chance.
1.) Aaron Mooy (Huddersfield Town) vs Newcastle United: Our goal of the week came from Huddersfield Town midfielder Aaron Mooy against Newcastle United. The Terriers registered back to back wins in the Premier League courtesy of the only goal from the Aussie midfielder. The move started from the left wing with German full back Chris Löwe giving Mooy the ball on the left wing with the Australian playing a one-two with forward Elias Kachunga while drifting angularly into the box. He then fired in a perfect right footed curler with both Javier Manquillo and Ciaran Clark on his shoulders, that gave The Magpies’ custodian Robert Elliot no chance.
