Manchester United maintained their winning run again this season as the Red Devils thrashed the Welsh side 4-0 thanks to goals from Eric Bailly, Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.
Manchester United took on Swansea City at Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon and it turned out to be a tricky game for United at first as Manchester United coped to command themselves against fully defensive Swansea side.
Swansea changed their formation from last week and opted to play the 5-3-2 formation in the match. Kyle Bartley, who spent last season on loan at Leeds, started for the first time since December 2015 in Premier League and £11 million new summers signing Roque Mesa made his debut in midfield with skipper Leon Britton injured. Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham and Jordan Ayew played as the front two strikers.
Paul Clement’s tactics clearly were visible from the start and the first notable attack was also registered by Swansea when Ayew made a strong run from a deflected shot Valencia and made a close range effort which just hit the bar.
However, at the end of a tight first half, Manchester United finally made the breakthrough when Bailly scored the first goal for the club from a rebound after Pogba hit the bar from the corner.
Ans since the second half, United dictated most of the play and had clear cut chances to score. Within a five-minute spell, the Red Devils netted three times to make it two wins from two.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan played in summer signing Lukaku for his third United goal in two games for the second goal whereas just two minutes later Pogba again scored with a clever chip before substitute Martial pushed in the last goal to claim the top spot for the consecutive second week.
