After finally making their first signing of the transfer window Tottenham Hotspur are looking to add another new player in their ranks as they target PSV Eindhoven defender Santiago Arias.
Mauricio Pochettino is still looking for a new right back for his team after the departure of Kyle Walker who signed for Manchester City few weeks back. Although they have been linked with numerous defenders, Spurs are yet to sign a replacement for Walker but as of right now Arias seems to be the ideal choice for Pochettino.
The Spurs boss decided to play young Kyle Walker-Peters last week against Newcastle United and with an injury to Kieran Trippier the club is looking for a much more experienced player who could play in the right back position.
Arias has been Spurs’ top target after performing brilliantly for both club and country. He has been a regular in the PSV team making a total of 31 appearances last season for the Rood-witten, since making his debut back in 2013. Arias also has European experience after playing in the UEFA Champions League last season.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, it has been reported that Spurs have been linked with the player since May and Tottenham are huge admirers of the right back.
The Colombian is entering his final two years at the Dutch club and is willing to take a new challenge, thus it could be an indication that he might be interested in moving to White Hart Lane to play for Spurs.
Tottenham need to make a quick move for the 25 year old if they are to bring him to North London, before other clubs start to approach and offer bids for the player.
Other Premier League teams such as Liverpool FC, West Ham United and Swansea City all have been interested in signing the player, in the past.
Spurs also completed the signing of defender, Davison Sanchez from PSV’s closest rivals Ajax Amsterdam and will be looking to add another defender in their squad, in the form of Arias.
