The new Premier League season is knocking on the door and it has an early start this season as the first game of the league will be played on Friday evening(Saturday early hours IST). Arsenal will host Leicester City in this season’s opener which promises to be an intriguing contest.
Gunners will host the Foxes at the Emirates for the opener of Premier League, and Arsenal will be eyeing to start the new campaign in a positive away against the 2015-16 Champions.
Arsenal will be missing Alexis Sanchez who is out with an abdominal strain. Also Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey will be missing due to injuries. Laurent Koscielny, Arsenal’s defensive stalwart will also be missing as he is suspended.
For Leicester, Danny Drinkwater and Vicente Iborra will not take any part because of their muscle injuries while Robert Huth is recovering from his ankle injury and will miss the game.
Two new signings of Arsenal, Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac are expected to make their Premier League debut. Wenger said that he will go with a three men defense and that may consist young defender Rob Holding. Granit Xhaka, who was outstanding in the Community Shield match against Chelsea is also expected to start at midfield.
For the Foxes, Riyad Mahrez is expected to feature despite of his transfer saga, while new signings Harry Maguire and Kelechi Iheanacho are also expected to feature.
