Three players Chelsea should sign in the summer transfer window

Chelsea will look forward to bolster their attack, ahead of a busy campaign this year.

Chelsea had set up a Community Shield showdown with Arsenal which they lost 4-1 on penalties after it ended 1-1(one goal apiece) between the London sides after winning the league last year.

Last year’s performance provided Antonio Conte’s men with the chance to take part in the Champions League football next term.

This upcoming season promises to be an interesting one for the league champions who ran away with the crown last season, with games to spare despite imminent pressure from fellow London Side Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the League log. And that presents Chelsea with the chance of more involvement and matches with the certainty of rubbing shoulders with the elite teams in Europe.

This clearly calls for major reinforcement as the Blues largely maintained a starting eleven although their run to the title as they were not involved in Europe and also exited the EFL Cup (formerly known as the Carling Cup) in the early stages of last season.

With the need to reinforce the Chelsea squad for the big season (challenges), we proffer three players that can add value and steel to the Stamford Bridge side.

The Brazilian left back Alex Sandro is one of the talented personnel available in the transfer market and is relatively of Chelsea standard in all stands.

Antonio Conte and Chelsea have been linked with the signature of the South American ace who featured along with fellow compatriot (Brazilian) Dani Alves in Juventus. Due to the level of attacking incision they exhibited up till the Champions League finals, the Italian side had a good campaign, one in which they eventually lost 1-4 to Real Madrid in Cardiff.

With the Blues looking to bolster their left full back position where Marcos Alonso flourished in the 3-4-3 formation from the left, there is need to make an adequate request and pursuit for the Juventus star.

The Blues must make a stern approach to convince the club (Juventus) and the player for his signature especially as the defender is about to commit his future to the club on a long term.

The Lazio talisman along with Brazilian youngster Felipe Anderson has led the lines pretty well for the Italian side over the past two seasons. This have prompted interest from several clubs across Europe like Manchester United, PSG, AS Monaco to name but a few but the Blues have to take out time to possibly cash in on such a player.

The forward can provide Chelsea with fire power and quality services on the wings just like Pedro Rodriguez does especially if the pressure and the need arise for the absence or the departure of Eden Hazard in future by likely suitors (Real Madrid).

The forward is affordable and the club needs to make an inquiry about the availability of the Lazio talent especially with the lure of Champions League football at Stamford Bridge next season.

The Blues are stuck in a decision dilemma about whether to sign a striker or not with regards to the uncertainty of Diego Costa’s future at the Club.

The player opened up on his desire for a possible move to former club Athletico Madrid but with the transfer ban placed on the Spanish outfit meaning that if Costa signs for his former side he will only be able to play until January when the ban will probably be lifted. This situation has left this transfer in a kind of a standstill at the moment.

The Chelsea star wants to move on as the relationship between him and his Italian manager (Conte) has been strained but will Chelsea lose their star man that helped the club to the League title at the expense of young striker Michy Batshuayi that is not relatively proven by all standard at the club especially at the highest level where pressure is bound during the course of the season.

Nevertheless, Chelsea are a reputable side with good financial stands in the transfer market and should be able to make a credible decision on that, one of which is to cover for the services of the Borussia Dortmund star Aubameyang that got the pace and the trickery to thrive (adapt and flourish) in the Premier League.

The Dortmund (prolific) forward can readily be available for the Chelsea signature if the London side really shows a keen interest in the player’s services.
