Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has demanded his new star signing Alvaro Morata should work harder to enhance his gameplay after he made a silent start in the pre-season friendlies.
The Spanish striker as of late joined the Blues in a club-record £70million transfer from Real Madrid and showed up for the second time in the Chelsea shirt against Inter Milan but failed made any impact.
Prior to the week, Morata came off the seat in their match against Bayern Munich. The Chelsea number nine had a fast effect in the game and helped Batshuayi scoring the second Chelsea goal as the Blues endured a 3-2 defeat.
But This time Conte chose to start him from the begin and put him in the left wing position in the 3-4-3 structure. However, the 24-year-old failed to establish a mark this time and for the sequential second time, Chelsea confronted a 2-1 defeat against Italian biggy Inter Milan.
After the match, the Italian supervisor sounded reproachful of the Spanish international and asserted Morata needs to work on his fitness more to gel all around ok with Chelsea’s formation.
“Morata is having training with us and for sure he has to improve a lot his physical condition to go quickly to the idea of our football,” said Conte.
“But he is working very well and today he tried to do his best but for sure he has to improve,” he added.
Chelsea’s Pre-season visit in Asia has been a blended occasion as the Blues have won just once and endured defeat twice. Notwithstanding, the Chelsea administrator has asserted that tiredness has caused such outcomes and he understands the weight he is overseeing under.
The Blues will play Arsenal next on 6th August in their Community Shield fixture and if we go by Conte’s comments, it is highly unlikely that Morata will start this match from the beginning.
