Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso has implied that manager Antonio Conte could roll out an improvement formation this year after using 3-4-3 attacking line up in the last season.
The Italian boss changed to three at the back from a customary back four after they bowed out against Arsenal 3-0 last season.
However, after the adjustment in formation, the Blues appreciated a long keep running of progress and in the end finished with huge achievement by lifting the Premier League trophy.
Full-back Marcos Alonso, who performed a crucial part in the title winning effort has now proposed that last season’s strategies could be rejected this term as manager Conte is attempting other possible choices as well.
‘We are working on new things this year to improve as a team. [It was] not only Chelsea [that used this system]. It’s an old Italian system that worked very well last year,’ said the Spanish defender.
He added: ‘It’s normal that other teams are trying to play like this, depending on the players you have. It’s good to play in different ways.
‘Football forgets everything very quick. It’s already time to think about the next season and do better than last year.’
Meanwhile, Chelsea fans have got a massive lift ahead of their Premier League battle as the star midfielder Eden Hazard is reportedly set to be fit before the expected time.
As indicated by few reports, the 26-year-old midfielder should be ready in a couple of weeks before the expected return date after he had a surgery on his ankle. The player has now officially joined the training alone to gain his match fitness whereas his colleagues are busy on the pre-season tour.
Chelsea will start their next season on the 6th August when they will play their London rival in the Community shield fixture.
