Inter Milan star Antonio Candreva has responded to the speculations surrounding him joining Premier League club Chelsea FC.
The Italian has said that he is flattered by the speculation of him being linked with The Blues and claims that it is ‘nice’ to be linked with the Premier League champions.
However, Candreva also claims that he is going nowhere and is definitely not leaving Inter this summer.
“It’s flattering to be linked with a club like Chelsea, but there’s absolutely nothing to it at the moment.”– Candreva told the media in China, where he’s on a preseason tour with Inter Milan.
Candreva claims that if an offer is made then the club would deal with it but he is happy playing for Inter at the moment and is proudly representing the Nerazzurri.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has worked with the player before when he was the head coach of the Italian national team. Conte seems to be a big fan of the player and thus wants his signature for his team Chelsea.
Chelsea have attempted to sign the 30-year-old before and tried to bring in the player during the January transfer window.
It has been reported that Conte wants to bring in the Italian winger due to his side missing out on the signing of Danilo who joined Manchester City from Real Madrid CF.
Candreva’s agent, however, has said that there is a chance that Candreva could join the West London club.
Federico Pastorello stated in an interview with fcinter1908.it that: “It’s 80 percent certain he’s going to stay in Milan, but we’re not excluding anything.”
Pastorello also added that his client is happy by the arrival of new head coach Luciano Spalletti at Inter.
It has been reported that The Blues are willing to offer a total of 23 million for the player, as Conte is looking for someone who could challenge Victor Moses for the right wing back position and Candreva is the perfect player to do so.
