Arsenal players are on the move this season and it seems that the latest one to be following the path is Calum Chambers. The England international joined Arsenal in 2014 and may be on his way out this summer as Arsenal have fixed the price for him.
Chambers joined Arsenal as a 19 year old from Southampton
Chambers joined Arsenal from Southampton along with the likes of Sanchez, Ospina and others, though he started his career decently, later failed to continue his progress and became a fringe character at North London. The 22 year old made a total of 59 appearances for the Gunners before being loaned out to Middlesbrough last season. He was a stalwart for Middlesbrough last year but couldn’t save them from relegation.
Chambers was a key member for Smoggies last season
With the emergence of Krystian Bielik and Rob Holding, the chances may be more limited for Chambers and he may have to find a new club on a permanent basis. Crystal Palace made two bids for the defender but their latest bid of £16 million was rejected by Arsenal and they have set a price of £20 million for the player, anything less won’t be sufficient.
There already has been a section of fans who have stated against this transfer as they believe Chambers will be required in the future as Mertesacker will retire after this season and Koscielny also in the wrong side of his age. He was a central figure for Boro and perhaps Arsenal will have to think twice before letting him go, as he is only 22 and has years ahead him.
Palace are not only their only suitors as Watford are reported be interested in him as well.
Another play who was supposed to move was Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny as Arsenal accepted £10 million from Leicester for the player. But for now the player has rejected the offer from the Foxes as he is happy at Arsenal and wants to fight for his place, according to the reports of Sun.
