Arsenal star feels ‘cheated’ by the club

Arsenal forward Lucas Perez feels that he was ‘cheated’ regarding the club’s unprofessional behaviour when they gave his no. 9 shirt to new signing Alexandre Lacazette. He is utterly frustrated and this shirt number incident has made him feel ‘the last straw’ and now he is even more desperate for a move away, preferably at Deportivo la Coruna.

He recently spoke to Arsenal chief negotiator Dick Law, and is quoted on Spanish website La Voz de Galicia, pushing for a move to Deportivo La Coruna.

He told Law, “I want to leave to play and be happy. Last year I barely had any opportunities and when I had them I took advantage of them.”

The striker had very limited opportunities last term but to his credit he took his chances well and scored 7 goals for the club, including a hattrick in the Champions League. Hedidn’t join in Arsenal’s pre season tour and it can be said that it’s a matter of time regarding Perez’s departure.

“They [Arsenal] are not behaving well with me. The thing of taking the shirt number without telling me to give it to a companion, it seems to me the last straw. I can not continue this way. I have given everything, but that has not been reciprocated, so I can’t stand it any longer,” Perez was quoted saying these and he thinks this season will more be the replicate of last season, if not worse and hence he wants to move in Depor, where he can play in front of his family and friends which gives him immense happiness.

He expressed his grievance and told the Spanish website that he feels ‘cheated’ by the club as he was not allowed a move to China last February as Wenger promised him more chances, which never came.

Also the shirt gesture has upset him badly as he feels Arsene Wenger should have contacted him before giving his number to Lacazette.

Perez believes that he can still play for Spain and as World Cup commences, he would dearly love to play for his hometown club, where he believes he will find the happiness. Incidentally, earlier Depor also was reported to have offered him a ten year mammoth contract and it is quite vivid that the Spanish striker is loved at the Riazor.
