Liverpool Transfer Update: How much the Reds can Recoup from Sales

Liverpool are hoping to recoup around £100 mil from sales, but as per reports from reliable Liverpool Echo, no balancing the books will occur this time like previous year.

Champions League nights are set to return at Anfield for the upcoming season and Liverpool have already shown early indications of a high spending summer as they are expected to break their transfer record fee for a number of times.

The Reds, nevertheless, will trim their squad prior to the next campaign and a few of their resources are set to depart in coming weeks. Liverpool are hoping to recoup around £100 mil from sales, but as per reports from reliable Liverpool Echo, no balancing the books will occur this time like previous year.

Below is a list of players (and expected transfer fees) who are supposed to leave the club by the end of August.

Mamadou Sakho (Expected Fee: £30 mil)

Jurgen Klopp, the Reds boss, has made it clear that Sakho is not in his plans following a row of discipline breach events and was loaned to Crystal Palace back in January where he delivered a stellar show and helped the Eagles to save relegation. Liverpool have slapped a £30 mil price tag for the Frenchman as they hope there will be many suitors for the centre-back.

Daniel Sturridge (Expected Fee: £25 mil)

The English marksman has suffered significant injury concerns in recent years and Liverpool are now open to listen to offers for the forward. Sturridge is a top-notch striker when he is fit, and the club is reportedly open to accept a fee around  £25 mil for him. West Ham United and Newcastle United have inquired about his availability.

Lazar Markovic ( Expected Fee: £16 mil)

The highly-rated Serbian had a mixed campaign when he joined them back in 2014-15 season and was then loaned out in order to gain more first team experience with Fenerbahce, Sporting CP and more recently Hull City. But the youngster neither managed to impress the gaffer during pre-season nor in his loan spells and thus, will be sold and a fee around £16 mil is expected to be recouped. West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is a big fan of Markovic and might match his asking price as per reports.

Alberto Moreno ( Expected Fee: £12 mil)

Moreno was brought in from Sevilla by ex-Reds boss Brendan Rodgers following his successful stint with the Spanish heavyweights; but the Spaniard struggled to settle down and was criticized due to his inconsistency and error-prone display that cost his side in major occasions. James Milner, Liverpool’s utility man, was deputized in a make-shift left-back role and Moreno was benched for the majority of the campaign. The player is now expected to return to Spain for first team opportunity and the club is seeking a fee around £12 mil for the left-back.

Jon Flanagan ( Expected Fee: £8 mil)

From ‘Scouse Cafu’ to Burnley substitute, Flanagan had a massive downfall in past four years. The right-back had a breakthrough 2013-14 campaign when the Reds almost won the league, but the Englishman was extremely unfortunate as he missed out almost a couple of seasons since then due to significant knee injuries. He forced a loan move to Burnley last year in order to achieve regular game time and be ready to fight for his place under Jurgen Klopp. But the decision went horribly wrong as he was an unused substitute for the majority of the season and he has now slipped down the pecking order behind Nathaniel Clyne and academy prodigy Trent Alexander-Arnold. He is reportedly being monitored by newly promoted Brighton, Newcastle and Huddersfield Town.

Kevin Stewart ( Expected Fee: £6 mil)

Stewart earned a first team status in later weeks of previous campaign and was supposed to hold a bright future ahead for the Reds due to his promising display in pre-season. He made a few substitute appearances earlier this campaign, but failed to break into the senior squad and the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, though reluctant, has no option but to let him go for a fee around  £6 mil. The likes of Brighton, West Brom and a host of Championship sides have inquired about his availability.

Andre Wisdom ( Expected Fee: £4 mil)

The English defender spent past few campaigns on loans to Derby County, West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City and most recently with Austrian Bundesliga champions Red Bull Salzburg. There he had an impressive spell, but the Reds are unwilling to retain him as a squad player. Salzburg and Championship outfit Derby County have reportedly agreed to match his asking price. The player prefers a move to the Rams as he had a productive previous spell with them.

Also, veteran Brazilian Lucas Leiva is set to depart upon his contract expiration following his ten years of attachment and a few youngsters like Ryan Kent, Danny Ward, Joe Gomez, Pedro Chirivella, Cameron Branagan, Taiwo Awoniyi, Brooks Lennon, Sheyi Ojo and Allan Rodrigues de Souza are expected to be sent on loan to gain first team experience.

The likes of Adam Bogdan, Connor Randall, Jack Dunn and Lloyed Jones will be sold and an amount of £5 mil is thought to be redeemed.
