The final act of another sensational football season is set to kick-off within few hours in the Millennium Stadium, Wales when defending champions Real Madrid will lock horns with Serie A giants Juventus in an exciting Champions League final.

Real Madrid, the record 11 times champions, enjoyed a triumphant domestic campaign under Zinedine Zidane as they ended Barcelona’s La Liga dominance and clinched the league title for the first time since 2011-12. Juventus, on the other hand, have won Europe’s most elite competition twice and now made it to the finals for second time in past three seasons under Massimiliano Allegri. They missed this silverware narrowly in 2014-15 campaign when they were defeated 3-1 by Barcelona in a highly competitive fixture. However, they knocked defending champions Los Blancos out from the semis that year and will be looking for similar outcome in tonight’s encounter.

Juventus vs Real Madrid Injury Update

Juventus will be without midfielder Marko Pjaca who suffered a season-ending ACL injury in March and young centre-back Daniele Rugani who injured his knee against Atalanta back in April.

Real Madrid centre-back Pepe and left-back Fabio Coentrao missed the last training session ahead of the final and are expected to remain sidelined for this fixture. Right-back Dani Carvajal picked up a hamstring injury in the semis against Atletico Madrid and is a doubt despite being named in Real Madrid’s squad. However, Local boy Gareth Bale is back in training following a calf injury and is expected to return for the final.

Juventus vs Real Madrid Last Meeting:

Allegri guided I bianconeri to the Champions League final a couple of years back when they knocked Real Madrid out from the semis,  3–2 on aggregate. Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata, who was enjoying his time with the Serie A champions back then, netted in both legs to knock Los Blancos out of the competition.

Juventus vs Real Madrid Key Players:

Two star-studded squads will lock horns for the title decider tonight but all eyes will be on 39 year old Juventus custodian Gianluigi Buffon as the warhorse is yet to lift this prestigious title during his decorated career. Young Argentine Paulo Dybala will partner the veteran countryman Gonzalo Higuain upfront as the later will be out to shake off his horrendous scoring record in major finals. But the main contest will be between two ‘BBCs’  when the back three of Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini will defend against Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and none other than Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo who will look to beat past a rigid back-line.
