After a stunningly successful season, finally, The Blues from the West London have been crowned as “The Champions of England” following their 1-0 away victory over the veteran Tony Pulis’s side West Bromwich Albion on Friday night fixture.

With a defeat for Tottenham against West Ham United, Antonio Conte’s boys had stepped closer to being the hot favourites to lift the cup for the fifth time. Now, they have completed their job for the season with two games remaining in their hand.

Before the game started, the home side promised Antonio Conte to give them a tough challenge at The Hawthorns. Their commitment to the statement was reflected in the game with stable and disciplined defence, because of which, all the Chelsea attacks were neutralised just outside the West Brom box. With a dominated but goalless first half, Chelsea players had been losing patience for a single goal, that can assure their silverware.

So, they initiated waves of attacks as we can see in the stats that they attempted 24 shots overall. But the defence composed by the managerial tactics of Tony Pulis dismissed all the efforts. Antonio Conte, the Chelsea man-in-charge, who believes on tactics and system more than that of a high profiled names, made two strange decisions by withdrawing their stars Eden Hazard and Pedro Rodriguez for Willian and the outcast of the season Michy Batshuayi respectively. In the 82nd minute of the game, the player who was most unlikely to become the hero has scored the winning goal for his team. It was Michy Batshuayi on the scoresheet. Conte assured Batshuayi earlier that he would get his chance and the Belgian has to utilise it. After a frustrating season on the bench, Batshuayi finally got an opportunity and not only he utilised the chance for himself, he let his team win the league with two matches prior to the end of the season. There can be no such delights for a player, who spent lion share of the season on the bench but did stuck on his motivation.

After the match, the Italian manager engaged himself in celebrating the title with his vintage passion. Anyways, he also mentioned that his job is yet to be done in this season as there is the prestigious F.A. Cup final to play on 27th of this month. Where his team will lock horns against the London rivals Arsenal. Conte will be opting for his second title on the very first season in England.
