Transfer Update: Liverpool’s bid accepted for highly-rated Brazilian

Liverpool’s lack of transfer activity during winter has been a subject of much criticism and the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has assured a busy summer prior to the upcoming campaign. A lot of names have been linked so far, however, new Brazilian sensation Luan is the latest addition to that long list of transfer rumors.

If report from a Gremio based radio station is believed to be true, Liverpool have a bid around £23m accepted for the Gremio attacker who has only one year left in his current contract and reportedly has rejected a contract extension with a view to ply his trade in Europe.

Luan, 24, had an impressive run for Brazil’s 2016 Summer Olympics team who eventually won the Olympic gold medal defeating Germany in tie-breaker. He earned his senior debut early this year when he replaced Diego Souza in a 1–0 friendly win against Colombia. In his 3.5 years spell for the Brazilian outfit, Luan has netted 43 times so far in 174 club appearances across all competitions.

Luan is dubbed as ‘new Ronaldinho’ for his blistering pace and skills. Also, his versatility is one of his key attributes that has drawn attention of the Liverpool gaffer. He can play in a number of attacking positions and has been used as a centre forward as well as in attacking midfield (Centre, Left, Right). Klopp has used his attackers in multiple roles and Luan’s addition might strengthen his attacking options, also the squad depth.

Liverpool’s samba boys have done a commanding job so far : veteran Lucas Leiva has completed a decade with the Reds, Philippe Coutinho has become a European sensation and attracting interest from Barcelona – the super-giants of world football. Not to forget Roberto Firmino’s name who has settled in very well and impressed with his work ethics, versatility, skills, tricks and finishing ability.

As per reports, Luan’s representatives had a visit to England and his agent Gianni Losito had a fruitful discussion with Liverpool officials. Gabriel Jesus’ recent move to English football from Plameiras has earned lots of recognition due to his stellar outing with Manchester City where he netted four times in six league appearances. Luan too has quality to produce similar impact with his enormous talent and the guidance of Jurgen Klopp might transform him to a potential world-beater in near future.
