La Liga giants both Barcelona and Real Madrid were appearing to be in the race for Flamengo youngster Vinicius Junior but if reports from Brazil are to be trusted, it is the Los Blancos who have overwhelmed the Blaugranas to sign him.
The Flamengo forward has been drawing interest from both Spanish clubs as of late and was recently said to have opened talks with Barcelona. However, Brazilian media outlet Globo Esporte has recently revealed that Spanish giant Real Madrid have emerged as the winners from the race to sign the 17-year-old Flamengo sensation.
Real Madrid have already reportedly held talks with his representatives and flew to Brazil to negotiate the deal. The whole deal will cost them nearly €61m. €45m is for the underlying transfer, €8m will go to the player’s agents while another €8m will go in various add-ons relying upon how he develops at Madrid.
Vinicius has been at Flamengo since his early ages and has risen as one of the most blazing prospects in Brazilian football in the last couple of seasons. The youngster will turn 17 only this year and yet to make his senior debut in Flamengo.
Vinicius’s move to Real Madrid will happen in 2018 as in Brazil the legal age of any player going abroad is 18. The attacker will apparently sign the deal now and spend his one year at Flamengo on loan till then.
Vinicius has already shown his worth in his National jersey for u17 and has scored 19 goals in 22 matches till now. The attacker also achieved the player of the tournament in the recent South American U-17 tournament where he became top scorer of the competition to led his side as the tournament Champion. The versatile attacker can play anywhere across the front line and has been proclaimed as the ‘Next Neymar’ of Brazilian football.
