The Premier League leaders Chelsea have registered a massive 3-0 away victory over Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday to move one step closer to being crowned as The Champions of England.
Both the teams started the game in very safe manner building stable resistances in the defence. As a result, both the goalkeepers were in very relaxed mood throughout the first half. But in the second half, the visitors showed why they are the hot favourites to grab the cup. And after that, Everton defence did not have any answers to the waves of The Blues attacks.
On 66th minute of the Chelsea broke the deadlock following an individual stunner from the ex-Barcelona winger Pedro Rodriguez. The Spanish winger received the ball on the edge of the box from Nemanja Matic and did a few dribbling skills before switching the ball to his left foot. His unleashed shot from his weaker foot went past the outstretched hands of the Everton last man on the goal Maarton Stekelenburg to the top right corner of the post.
In the 79th minute, Chelsea’s stand-by skipper Garry Cahill increased the lead following a low delivery from the Belgian star Eden Hazard. His delivery was poorly dealt by the goalkeeper Stekelenburg. As a result, Cahill did not do any mistake to send the into the back of the net.
Later in the game in the 86th minute, Chelsea’s super subs combined together to put the last nail in the coffin of the home side. The midfield maestro Cesc Fabregas received the ball at the right end of the Everton box and went through the defence before he placed a brilliant cross into the path of another Chelsea substitute Willian. Anyone in the world would need special skill to miss the chance. Willian was not one of those. As a result, Chelsea secured their 3-0 comfortable victory to move to the top of the table with 81 points in their hand.
