Chelsea vs Southampton : Preview, Lineups, Betting odds and TV guide

Southampton will have a testing trip to the Stamford Bridge where Chelsea will be the clear favourites to win this clash.

After losing their last Premier League outing against Manchester United, Antonio Conte’s men are only four points ahead of second-placed Tottenham at the top of the league table. And so, a win will be all they want from the Chelsea vs Southampton fixture.

Chelsea could not continue their winning streak against the tactical genius of Jose Mourinho, but they bounced back with an emphatic win against Tottenham in the FA Cup semifinal. This win has surely uplifted the morale of the team and they will now look forward to extend their lead at the top table against Southampton who themselves have not been at their best all season. Claudio Puel’s boys are now at the ninth spot and realistically, they can only hope for a eighth-place-finish in this campaign. However, a win against the mighty league leaders will definitely be a confidence booster for the Saints.

Besides, defender Matt Targett and striker Charlie Austin are ready to return to training after being injured for a long time. However, they are still not fit to take the field. Sam McQueen is also doubtful with a groin injury. With these injury worries in mind, the Saints boss is most likely going to start with the following lineup:
