Transfer: European giants closely monitoring Athletic Bilbao star Inaki Williams

European giants Juventus, Liverpool FC and Borussia Dortmund are all interested in signing Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Old Lady are in thoughts to trigger the 50 million release clause of the Bilbao forward, as they are reported to be preparing a huge bid for the 22-year-old.

It has been reported that Juventus have sent scouts to monitor the Spain under-21 player closely and they are very keen to bring in the forward to Turin.

Other European clubs such as Liverpool FC and Borussia Dortmund are also interested in bringing him in, according to reports.

The 22-year-old has been very promising throughout the season and is considered as one of the most prolific young talents to emerge from the Spanish academy of Atheltic Bilbao.

Breaking into the Bilbao first team in 2014-15, Williams has scored an impressive 21 goals and has provided 14 assists in 99 appearances for the Basque side since then.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with the player in the past. Manager, Jurgen Klopp has seen immense talent in the player and considers him as a player similar to Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang due to his fast pace and his versatility to adapt the number nine role, even though the player started his career as a winger.

However, it seems like Klopp’s former team Borussia Dortmund have edged ahead in the race to sign the player.

According to Basque outlet Deia, it is the Serie A champs, Juventus who have made the first move to sign the player and have also opened up a line of communication to sign the player in the upcoming transfer window.

As of now, Liverpool scouts have also been seen at the San Mames monitoring the player closely.

Bilbao however, are known for their notorious habit of rejecting clubs when it comes to negotiating with rival clubs regarding a move for a key player and if they really try to offload the attacker, they will surely charge a bomb for him that’s for sure.
