Video : AFC Bournemouth vs Arsenal Highlights, Match Stats and Review

Arsenal scripted a fast comeback in the last 20 minutes to secure a point at the south coast.

A victory over Bournemouth would have kept the Gunners title dreams alive before the most crucial encounter of Premier League so far between Spurs and leaders Chelsea on Wednesday night. However, Arsene Wenger’s men could not capitalize the opportunity and suffered a major setback in their chase following a 6 goals thriller at Dean Court that ended in a 3-3 draw.

Arsenal had a shocking start and went down by two goals within 20 minutes into the game. Junior Stanislas’ cross was picked up by left-back Charlie Daniels who was left unmarked by Hector Bellerin. He made no mistake to earn a lead for his side. Winger Ryan Fraser was fouled from behind by Granit Xhaka inside the penalty area a couple of minutes later and Callum Wilson slotted home to double the lead. The Gunners were clueless throughout and the first half ended 2-0 in favor of the Cherries.

Fraser, the Scottish winger, put the Cherries on top at around 58th minute mark to net the third Bournemouth goal of the night. But the game was not over and an improbable turn around was on cards when Alexis Sanchez headed one back with 20 minutes remaining. Substitute Lucas Perez made an immediate impact who volleyed his side’s second after five minutes with Olivier Giroud’s second assist of the night. The game upturned in the Gunner’s way when Bournemouth suffered a sent off as Simon Francis was handed a marching order for fouling Aaron Ramsey with eight minutes remaining. Arsenal kept on pressing and pushing for an equalizer and finally find their third when Olivier Giroud’s downward header beat the Bournemouth custodian Artur Boruc and found the back of the net. The result has sent the Gunners fourth in the table whereas the Cherries are now ninth with 25 points after 20 outings.
