Transfer: Liverpool target could leave Club in January, admits agent

Reported Liverpool target, RB Leipzig midfielder Emil Forsberg, could move in this month’s transfer window his agent Hasan Cetinkaya has suggested.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a big enthusiast of the player and reportedly wants to sign him in January. But apart from them, other clubs like Juventus and Arsenal are also linked with the Swedish playmaker.

Leipzig Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl recently suggested that he does not expect any of his players to leave the club in January but the 25-year-old’s agent has hinted otherwise.

The Creative midfielder’s agent has confirmed the link ups with big clubs but did not mention any exact name. He also stated that he is not sure if the player will be till the end this season at the club despite RB Leipzig performing exceptionally well in the Bundesliga.

“I can’t confirm any names,” Hasan Cetinkaya told Bild.

“But after the great first half of the season, big clubs have reached out to me. RB are on a good way to become a big club, which plays in Champions League soon. In spite of that I can’t promise that Emil will stay in Leipzig this winter.”

Forsberg has been most essential part of the Bundesliga club’s journey this season till now. The Swedish has scored five goals in 12 starts and gave eight further assists to his team-mate as they sit in second place in the table in what’s their first ever season in the top flight.

The playmaker’s Contract runs till 2021 which implies Liverpool have to spend a fortune to take him away from the German club. It is understood that Leipzig at least want around £20 million for the transfer fee of the player.

The Liverpool boss is looking for reinforcement into his squad for their maiden title bid this season and also enquired about his former club’s teenage winger Christian Pulisic. However, Dortmund has ruled out any possibility of the availability of the American youngster and this could probably have led Klopp to find an alternative choice in Forsberg.
