Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schniederlin’s time at Old Trafford seems to be coming to an end as the French international nears a £20 million move to Premier League club West Bromwich Albion.
The French international moved to Manchester for a fee of £24 million from Southampton FC just 18 months ago, but has since then failed to make an impact under boss Jose Mourinho. Schneiderlin has made just 32 appearances and has scored just 1 goal since joining Manchester United back in 2015. His numbers this season are even more unimpressive as the midfielder has made just 3 appearances with no goals to his name yet.
Both the Telegraph and Mail have confirmed that the Baggies are this preparing to make a £20 million bid for the former Strasbourg man.
West Bromwich Albion who are currently in 8th position with 29 points on board will face Tottenham Hotspurs and Sunderland AFC in January. The Baggies have two defeats in their last five matches suffering back to back defeats against Manchester United and Arsenal FC. However, they have bounced back yesterday night, winning the encounter against Hull City 3-1. With the likes of Craig Gardener, James Morrison and Chris Brunt in the West Brom midfield signing Schneiderlin would be a huge boost for the Pulis.
Everton are also interested in signing Morgan Schneiderlin as Everton boss Ronald Koeman could be reunited with the player, with whom he worked during his tenure at Southampton FC. With Axel Witsel likely to join either Serie A club Juventus or a Chinese club according to reports, making a move for Schneirderlin seems to be the right call for Koeman. However, The Toffees are yet to bid for the player for a move to Goodison Park.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said he will allow the player to leave the club if an acceptable bid for the midfielder is made.
Manchester United have also identified Schneiderlin’s replacement. The Red Devils are currently looking to sign 19 year old Valencia CF midfielder Carlos Soler.
According to the Mirror United are willing to prepare a bid for the youngster who has caught the eye after impressive performances in the club’s youth team.
