West Ham vs Manchester United : Preview, Lineups, Betting odds and TV guide

Jose Mourinho's men will take a testing trip to West Ham on their first match of the new year.

The final game of the first day of Premier League football in 2017 is going to be the fixture of West Ham vs Manchester United, and it will be an extremely crucial affair for both the teams.

After a 1-5 thrashing against Arsenal, the Hammers did not lose any of their next four games. They won three and drew one before losing narrowly against Leicester City on Saturday. The side has surely suffered from a lot of injury worries in recent times and it will continue to haunt them against a rejuvenated Manchester United, the side that have won five consecutive games and have been unbeaten in their last ten Premier League outings.

West Ham vs Manchester United possible lineups:

Slaven Bilic is having a hard time with his defenders, as James Collins, Arthur Masuaku, Sam Byram, Reece Oxford and Alvaro Arbeloa are not available. The boss has used Havard Nordtveit in the right back position and he would probably continue to do so against United. Among other important players, Diafra Sakho is out injured for a long time; while Mark Noble is doubtful with knee injury. Lanzini may be the one to replace Noble in the central midfield.

Following is the predicted lineup for West Ham United.

Manchester United, on the other hand, will have to do without reliable defender Eric Bailly who will be out on international duties for the African Cup of Nations. Michael Carrick was rested in the last match and Marouane Fellaini replaced him in the midfield. The Belgian might start yet again. On the other hand, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Anthony Martial played important parts in the last match. But, rotation system might see Juan Mata get a starting berth ahead of Mkhitaryan in the right flank.

Here is the possible lineup for the visitors.

The two teams met twice this season. At first, in the Premier League reverse leg, West ham and United shared points at Old Trafford.
