Up for a thirteenth win on the trot, Chelsea are clearly the favourites to win this encounter with a big margin.
Antonio Conte dismissed Arsène Wenger’s suggestion that the title is already Chelsea’s to lose. He said “I’m pleased if people are changing their opinions (of us),” he said. “But that means you must pay even more attention.”
While Conte is the happier of the managers, the away manager believes that they can be the side to beat Chelsea and end their winning run. Hughes told SkySports, “The run they [Chelsea] are on at the moment is absolutely outstanding, but that run will come to an end at some point, I don’t think anyone thinks that from now until the end of the season they will win every game. We’re going into it with the intention of stopping the run if we can – and why can’t it be us?”
“And we went there last year and got our first point at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League, which proves we have good talent in our team.”
As pleasing might it sound, for the home side, Costa and Kante will be back in the side after sitting out with suspensions in the last game, but Pedro will be out with a suspension. For the away side, Bardsley and Muniesa are huge doubts and might just be on the bench.
Chelsea didn’t win either game against Stoke City last season (D1 L1), the first time they had failed to beat them either home or away in a league campaign since 1974/75.
The Potters are winless in 11 league visits to Chelsea, last winning there 1-0 in April 1974.
Stoke have scored just three times in eight visits to Stamford Bridge.
