Winter is coming and the Gunner’s boss Arsene Wenger has not been much active so far for the upcoming January transfer window. He reiterated his contentment with current Arsenal squad and is in high spirits with forward Danny Welbeck’s return to full training after seven months of absence with knee injury.
But the Gunners are currently tipped off an unlikely move as they are considering to acquire the services of 20-year-old winger Cohen Bramall who is now playing for Hednesford Town in the Evo-Stik Northern League Premier Division.
Bramall spent the previous campaign in eighth tier of English football with Market Drayton and has no professional experience whatsoever after being turned down by Crewe as a teenager.
Arsenal scouts spotted Bramall a couple of weeks back when he was taking part in a trial match with Sheffield Wednesday and offered him two days of trial with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez before handing a two-year contract initially to train with the Under-23s, as per the reports of Daily Mail.
Bramall is pacy, physically strong as well as a technically gifted winger with great dribbling skills. Wenger, who has always preferred youngsters, has trusted his scouts on this occasion and is planning to add the attacker to bolster his squad that has been marred by significant injury concerns in recent time.
The rise of Jamie Vardy has motivated plenty of non-league footballers to achieve their Premier League dream. Duncun Watmore of Sunderland is another name who featured regularly for England U20s and U21s since joining the Black Cats back in 2013. Also, the likes of Chris Smalling and Charlie Austin have earned a lot of acknowledgment in the top tier of English football. Cohen Bramall will have an opportunity to make his name to that list if Arsenal decide to strike the deal in coming days.
