Transfer: Chelsea and Manchester United target not interested in leaving the Club

AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has revealed that he won’t leave his Ligue 1 club in the January transfer window, in spite of reported interest from the Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United.

Midfielder Bakayoko has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea over a move in this January with Jose Mourinho reportedly acknowledges the player as a successor to Michael Carrick and Chelsea boss Conte as a possible replacement of Oscar.

Recently, reports also suggested that Chelsea’s technical executive Michael Emenalo has scouted the 22-year-old on a few events this season. However, the French midfielder confirms that he is not excited about joining any Premier League teams halfway through the season.

“The idea of an exit crossed my mind at the start of the season,” he told Eurosport. “I didn’t know what the club wanted to do with me. Maybe I wasn’t putting in the necessary effort.

“I didn’t know what the club wanted to do with me. Maybe I wasn’t putting in the necessary effort.

“What triggered everything was the confidence of the coach. That changes everything. I needed to feel important in the team and take matters into my own hands.
“Friends told me [about the interest] but I don’t pay it any attention. I’ve had a good first six months but the season is not over.

He makes sure that he won’t be joining Chelsea or any Premier League club in anytime soon in the recent months and wants to help his team this season to reach as much as glory possible in the domestic league as well as in Champions League. However, he also concludes that it is a dream for him to play in the English League in the future.

“I won’t leave Monaco this winter, that’s for sure. I don’t want to leave. ASM are a beautiful club,” he added.
“Certainly the Premier League makes you dream but I have no reason to leave this winter. Today, I have two goals: to finish as a champion in France and to go as far as possible in the Champions League.”

The Chelsea target who signed a five-year deal when he arrived from Rennes in 2014 is rumoured to be valued at €40m by his club at the moment. But going by his statement it is quite sure he is not moving in January, however, he did not rule out a move for the next Summer.
