SHOCKING: Liverpool Attacker Charged with drink driving

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has been accused of drink driving after the Brazilian was charged on Christmas Eve.

Merseyside Police have confirmed, The Liverpool striker was halted in Liverpool downtown area in the early hours of December 24th after being found driving rashly while drunk. However, the Liverpool man will be available for his club’s Premier League fixture with Stoke City, despite being charged with drink driving.

The striker has developed into one of the fan top picks at Anfield this season, in spite of the fact that the news of his drink-driving run after has not run well with supporters. A Liverpool representative said the club would not remark on the issue until the legitimate procedure had closed.

The Former Hoffenheim striker has to appear at the Magistrate court on the same day of Chelsea’s visit to Anfield in the New year Eve.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the Guardian on Monday: “Merseyside Police has charged a 25-year-old man with drink driving after his car was stopped in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Saturday, December 24, 2016,”

“Roberto Firmino, from Liverpool, will appear at Liverpool City Magistrates Court on 31 January.”

Firmino moved to Anfield from German side Hoffenheim for £29 million in the Summer of 2015 and since then has been one of the club’s best signings as of late. The attacker has scored an impressive 15 goals and made further 10 assists in his 47 appearances for Liverpool till now.

His impressive performance has impressed everyone under the direction of Klopp and the Brazilian is now touted to be a crucial part of the Merseysiders’ challenge for their maiden title this season. The Reds are currently at the second place just six points behind league leaders Chelsea.

They will face title rivals Manchester City on New Year’s Eve before they go to Sunderland on January 2.
