Chelsea winger Pedro claims the club’s current eleven-game winning streak is more amazing than anything he’s been associated with his career till now, in spite of playing it for former club Barcelona.
The dominating Chelsea team have yet to show any signs of slowing down on their winning run and the Spanish international, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona for £21.4million last year, said he also feels the same.
The Chelsea winger was a part of the great Barcelona side that conquered and dominated in every competition of football that won 5 League titles over a period of 7 years. But after his move to the Premier League last Summer, Pedro’s first season did not go to plan as the forward thought of. From UCL and La Liga winning Champion to straight into the heart of relegation-battler was never meant to happen. However, the ship sails the other way around this season after Conte’s arrival and the winger has currently found himself and his team in a sublime form which has put them at the top position with an aggregate of six points over second-placed Liverpool.
While speaking to the media, Pedro said, “I definitely haven’t been on a run like this here at Chelsea and I can’t think of one in my career that’s been this long. Last year, we didn’t manage to win games on the bounce, so let’s hope we can keep this going.
“It’s the daily work we put in during training that is helping to bring the best form from us and we’ve grown in confidence, both mentally and physically. That’s why we have won so many games in a row.”
The midfielder also heaped praise on his team-mates and said their hard training sessions and togetherness have reflected on the scoresheet and they feel confident right now.
“We train hard, both tactically and physically, but we do a lot of ball work as well, work on bringing the ball out. I think that’s enabling us to get better and also work better as a team. We feel strong because we’re all in a good vein of form at the moment”, the Chelsea winger added.
“It helps when players can come in, such as Cesc Fabregas, Willian or Nathaniel Chalobah. It’s great because we all have the same objective, we all want to win game.”
Chelsea will meet Bournemouth on Boxing day and will face a stern test as the Blues will be without their star men Diego Costa and Kante due to suspension.
