This gameweek produced relatively a less number of goals. The highlight of this gameweek was that Chelsea won their 11th consecutive Premier League matches and cemented their places at the top.
Manchester City came from a goal to down to beat Arsenal, who lost two back to back games. Manchester United continued their recent good form by beating West Brom 2-0. Tottenham beat Burnley 2-1, as well. This round did not produce too many marvelous goals like some weeks before still some great goals were there. Here are our top 5 goals for this week.
Patrick van Aanholt vs Watford:
Sunderland are really struggling in front of goal. Apart from their two strikers, Patrick van Aanhold is their only scorer this season in the Premier League. He scored a crucial and difficult goal against Watford. The ball was meant for him, but before his reach, a Watford defender anticipated. The Dutchman adjusted his body position and took a quick shot with a half turn. A good goal for a defender! Sunderland need more of these from him as well as defending for saving relegation.t
Alvaro Negredo vs Swansea:
Alvaro Negredo’s brace helped to beat Swansea for Middlesbrough. His first goal is really good. Gaston Ramirez opened the attack by snatching a ball in his own half. Then, he gave it to Adam Clayton. The cross from Englishman was not good enough. It was behind Alvaro Negredo. But the Spaniard took a brilliant volley stretching his legs to beat the goalkeeper.
Danny Rose vs Burnely:
Danny Rose is always renowned for his attacking contribution. He has scored another match winning goal for Tottenham. It was a perfect team goal. Lots of Tottenham players involved in this move. Finally, Moussa Sissoko found Danny Rose inside the penalty box. The English international took a fierce shot to beat Burnley goalkeeper in his near post.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic vs West Brom Albion:
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is always famous for spectacular goals. He scored a brace against West Brom to continue the winning run of Manchester United. His second goal is truly his individual brilliance. From the left side of the penalty area, he dodged past some defenders with his skill and squeezed the ball inside the defence into the goal.
Jay Rodriguez vs Bournemouth:
Jay Rodriguez’s progress always halts due to injury. He has played a limited number of games in the last two seasons. He is trying to change his fortune, this season. He is showing glimpses of that in this match. Just like Alvaro Negredo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, his brace helped his team to win. But his second goal was magnificent. He took a brilliant curler from outside the box with an immense power which entered into the top corner. Southampton fans want more from him like this.
