France and West Ham United star Dimitri Payet has admitted that he will welcome a move at the Emirates if it beckons. He currently plays for the Hammers but is keen to move to their London rivals Arsenal if the situation arises.
The French midfielder told RMC, “I read that Wenger considers me the missing piece of the Arsenal’s game, but he’s never told me that. We conceded five or six at home against them. When you see them playing, as a technical player, you could only have fun in that team. They’re candidates for the title every year.”
Payet has been long time linked with a move to Arsenal but Arsene Wenger never approached for the the 29 year old. Now the player himself has stated that he will be the perfect last piece of Arsenal’s jigsaw and that has added speculations as the transfer window reopens this January.
He added: “The situation at the club affects me, but I’m an ambitious person. I’m in a fight with my club and I’m giving everything for them, to get out of this difficult situation, but I’m not closing the door to anything.”
West Ham currently are at 13th place thanks to their recent victories after a difficult start to the season. Payet also quoted that he misses playing in the Champions League and as some years are ahead of him, he would love to play in the best competitions. The former Marseille man also said that if he has to leave West Ham, he will leave them in the correct way and will take his time. Payet arrived to West Ham last season and was a great success in his first season. This season he was out injured but has come back and put up some decent performances.
West Ham face Swansea on boxing day and Arsenal host West Brom on the same day.
