Arsenal star urges the Gunners to sign German International

Wolfsberg outcast Julian Draxler could be Mesut Ozil's partner at Arsenal soon.

Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil has urged his team to sign his Germany colleague Julian Draxler in the upcoming January transfer window, according to reports.

The Germany playmaker has pleaded with bosses to snap up the Wolfsburg star, who looks set to leave the Bundesliga side in January, and making him sign may help Ozil to extend his contract as well according to sources.

Ozil and left winger Draxler, 23, were part of the same Germany side that won the World Cup in 2014. Also both of them started their career from Schalke in Germany.

And it is clear that former Real Madrid star Ozil thinks Draxler has the quality to fit into Arsenal’s style of play and adapt to the Premier League and be a success story at the Emirates. He is a player who has been a long term target for the Gunners, Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of him as well. But the move to Arsenal has always been faded off due to some reason, as it was last season when Draxler joined Wolfsburg from Schalke. But off late he has clearly stated that he wants a move to an elite team and wants to make the next big step forward.

A move this January window looks very likely for the 23 year old and Arsenal will have to dig deep to get their man, as PSG and Juventus are also monitoring his situation. The German is valued 30 million pounds and Arsenal will be looking to land their target.

The Gunners have both Alexis and Ozil yet to renew their contracts with 18 months remain of their current one to expire. Now according to RMC Sport, the word is that should Arsenal succeed in snapping up the winger, it would help convince Ozil to pen a new deal, with his contract set to expire in 2018 and extension talks still ongoing.
