In-depth : Jurgen Klopp bringing out the best of Liverpool in style

Liverpool have been playing extremely well of late, and there are several reasons behind this.

Liverpool are back to their best. They are playing a brand of football not seen in the Premier League very often. Fast, flowing and fluid, the Liverpool team of this season is the team we expect Jurgen Klopp to put out.

After having spent a season at Anfield, Klopp has finally been able to assert his influence on to the team and has turned the Kop into a modern, European powerhouse. After a disappointing campaign last time, the Reds look like the team to beat this year. They have a slightly shaky defense, but possess probably the best attack in the league, right up there with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City.

Liverpool have Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho, both players having displayed form that can be worthy of the title. While Coutinho has been the undoubted star of this team so far, ever since his injury, it has been Mane who has picked up the work load. Both players have been amongst the goals and are regularly assisting, providing the spark so desperately required in the Premiership. Although the defense is not the sort that can win you titles, Klopp has a proved pedigree as manager and can guide this time to a title. The defense can do with a solid spine, but the performance of the full backs has been nothing short of commendable.

The central midfield is governed by Jordan Henderson, Emre Can, Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana. This is the place where Liverpool have been able to dominate games and it’s no surprise to a Jugen Klopp side doing so. Just like Jose Mourinho’s team is good defensively, and Conte’s team is playing the 3-4-3 well, it is Klopp’s specialty as manager to pull off the 4-3-3 midfield heavy system to perfection.

The strike force does not comprise of any out and out single striker, but instead is a combination of three attacking midfielders who can also double up as wingers or playmakers when required. Firmino, Coutinho and Mane are three extremely talented players who compliment each other very well and it’s not a surprise to see them doing well. All three have a good chemistry going and they are one of the top three attacking units in the league. Even Divock Origi has done well in the limited time he’s got, and the way Liverpool have been playing, it looks like he will continue to do so.

On current form they will be interested till the end of the season, and if the goals don’t dry up, even a first title in over 25 years is well on the cards for Liverpool.
